The Durango Silverton
railway is truly a world
class train ride. Traveling
through the beautiful San
Juan mountains between
the old mining town of
Silverton to the modern day
town of Durango,
passengers are treated to
some of the most incredible
scenery you could ever
imagine. To the right you
see the engine under a full
head of steam heading out
of Silverton heading toward
Durango. The bell was
ringing, and the whistle cut
the clear autumn air with
an echo that will no doubt
be eteched into the
memories of all who were
present.
