Colorado Fall Colors - Cattle Ranching timberlinetrails.net

Cattle Ranching - had it's
heyday in the western
United States in the
eighteen hundreds. During
that period ranching was
(and still in some places
today) big business. It
was never an easy
occupation, but the rigors
of cattle ranching were
even greater at high
altitude. The photo to the
left shows the remains of a
once bustling cattle
ranching area. The short
growing season (for
grasslands) and the harsh
climate must forced many
to abandon their beloved
lifestyle. Thus, you will see
many scenes like this
throughout the American
west.
Proverbs 27:23-24
Be sure you know the
condition of your flocks,
give careful attention to
your herds; for riches do
not endure forever...
