WEATHER IN DEATH VALLEY - covers many climate zones. In the valley itself, there are many areas below sea level that can be blistering hot in the summer months to the point where temperatures can set world records. I remember driving through Death Valley during the summer one year at midnight, and the temperature was still over 100 degrees! On the other hand, Death Valley National Park, also contains Telescope Peak that rises to an elevation of over 11,000 feet. This snow capped peak makes up part of the alpine zone in winter months and makes up one of the greatest drop offs (from valley floor to summit) in North America. Below is a sampling of current weather conditions at varying elevations. Notice the huge change in temps between the valley floor and Telescope Peak!

and the mute tongue will shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert."
